Road Traffic and Transport
SAT has jurisdiction in this area under the Road Traffic (Administration) Regulations 2014, Control of Vehicles (Off-road Areas) Act 1978, Perth Parking Management Act 1999, Transport (Road Passenger Services) Act 2018, and the Transport Co-ordination Act 1966.
Road Traffic (Administration) Regulations 2014
A person affected by certain decisions of the CEO under the Road Traffic (Authorisation to Drive) Regulations 2014 (such as a refusal of an application for the grant of a driver’s licence) or the Road Traffic (Vehicles) Regulations 2014 (such as decisions regarding CEO exemptions, improvement notices, vehicle licensing or decisions by the Commissioner of Main Roads under the Road Traffic (Vehicles) Act 2012) can apply to the SAT to have this decision reviewed.
Control of Vehicles (Off-road Areas) Act 1978
SAT reviews decisions relating to refusal of (including for renewal or transfer of), or suspension of registration of vehicles.
Perth Parking Management Act 1999
SAT can review decisions made by the CEO not to issue, vary, renew or transfer parking bay licences, or the imposition of conditions on such licences.
Transport (Road Passenger Services) Act 2018
SAT reviews certain decisions made under this Act, predominantly by the CEO, on an application by the person aggrieved, such as the refusal to grant a passenger transport authorisation.
Transport Co-ordination Act 1966
SAT reviews decisions made by the Minister relating to revoking or suspending licences issued under the Act, such as licences in respect of commercial goods vehicles, aircrafts and ferries.
