Environment and Resources
SAT has jurisdiction to review government decisionsand make orders under a range of environment and resources legislation.
Environment and Resources comprise three broad areas – Water & Fisheries; Biosecurity, Agriculture & Conservation; and Resources. The tabs below refer to relevant legislation and the types of decisions that SAT can review or make in these areas.

Water & Fisheries relates to the quality and availability of water, including water licensing and the allocation of water entitlements, and the management of fish resources.
SAT has jurisdiction to review government decisions relating to various licences, leases and notices, make decisions relating to payments and compensation, and to deal with certain disputes.

Biosecurity, Agriculture & Conservation relates to agricultural produce and management; biosecurity management; human, animal and environmental health; and biodiversity and land conservation.
SAT has the jurisdiction to review government decisions relating to certain registrations, notices and directions, the seizure, treatment and destruction of biosecurity hazards, and licensing (including decisions relating to the grant or refusal of fauna and flora licences).

SAT has broad jurisdiction to review decisions concerning the grant of certain permits and exemptions, the payment of compensation, the rectification of the register of titles, and approvals for beverage products under the WA container deposit scheme.
