SAT Wizard

The first step in applying to the SAT is to identify the enabling law under which you are making your application. The SAT has created the SAT Wizard to simplify this process.

What can I do with the SAT Wizard?

  • Browse the enabling laws;
  • Check the requirements for each application; and/or
  • Fill in the eApplication.

The SAT Wizard can tailor the application form to your specific matter.

Once I start the SAT Wizard do I have to complete the eApplication?

No, if you just want to check out the enabling laws or the requirements for a particular application, you can do so.

After you've finished browsing, you can start an application or you can simply log out.

What if I know my enabling law?

Then the process of applying is even easier.

For example, you may have received a letter from a decision maker that states the Act and section, or regulation or town planning scheme relevant to your problem. If so, you may use the SAT Wizard to check the requirements for your application or to begin the application process.

If you are applying for a review under a town planning scheme, simply select 'Town Planning Scheme' in the Act box of the SAT Wizard.

Where can I see the Acts in full?

The enabling Acts appear in full on the State Law Publisher (SLP) website. You can link to the SLP website from within the SAT Wizard.

The regulations that allow applications to the SAT can be found in Procedures.

Will the SAT Wizard give me any information about my application?

The SAT Wizard lists the requirements for each application in terms of:

  • who can apply;
  • time limits on applications;
  • documents that must be attached;
  • application fees; and
  • representatives.

If you order an application form by telephone these details will be attached to the form.

What happens when I've finished?

Send or deliver your form with the required fee to the SAT.

By post: GPO Box U1991 Perth WA 6845
In person: Level 4, 12 St Georges Terrace, Perth WA
By email or fax: only in special circumstances. See How Do I Apply?

You also need to give copies of the application to parties named in the application, in the required manner. See Serving the Application.
