Are there related subjects that the SAT does not handle?

The SAT does not handle:

  • residential tenancy disputes; and
  • racing penalties.

For more information on areas not covered by the SAT see Matters Not Dealt With by SAT in Jurisdiction.

How will my application be handled?

Applications in this stream are usually listed for a first directions hearing at which the matter will be sent to a final hearing or referred to mediation or to a compulsory conference.

However some applications, such as those relating to strata titles disputes, may be dealt with on the documents, without a final hearing.

Practice Note 5 outlines practice and procedures for Proceedings Under the Strata Titles Act 1985 and Practice Note 6 provides more information on practice and procedures for Proceedings Under the Retirement Villages Act 1992.

Advice on strata title matters can also be obtained from the Department of Land Information’s Land Registration Centre on (08) 9273 7044, the Strata Titles Institute of Western Australia and The Strata Centre on (08) 9367 7299. See links below.

Are there special requirements or arrangements for some matters?
